Rainbow Six Siege just got a new batch of cosmetic items, offering summer-appropriate attire perfect for staying cool through the hotter months - and look cool doing it. If you log in to Siege right now you’ll get two of the new Sunsplash for free, giving you a pair of cosmetics from the 12 item collection.
These packs - they bear a striking resemblance to Capri Suns, incidentally - offer the chance at items like Blue Hibiscus, which features Lesion in a Hawaiian shirt. Then there’s Scuba Six for Dokkaebi, an aptly named wetsuit, as well as our favourite, Summer Cool, which gives Lesion a popsicle stick to chew on.
Stay competitive by staying current with the .
You’ll also have a shot at some colourful weapon skins, and some nifty charms ranging from diving masks and flip flops to a very angry Tiki idol, on top of all the other skins in the package.
The full collection will cost 2700 R6 credits, or just over $20 USD. Not a terrible value, despite the relatively small selection of skins.

The mainstream media is full of stories about national football teams kicking back and playing smash hit battle royale Fortnite in their spare time at the World Cup in Russia at the moment, but it appears the Brazilian team would rather play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive than battle it out around Tilted Towers.
It’s no big secret that Neymar Jr is a big fan of the Valve shooter, having being snapped several times with FalleN and the rest of the current MiBR roster, but it was a surprise seeing the superstar running over to his teammates after scoring Brazil’s first goal against Mexico yesterday, and pretending to blind them with a poorly thrown flashbang.
Need to blow off some steam before the next match? Grab your friends and try our.
The celebration, known as the flashbang dance, not only caught the eye of the CS:GO community on Reddit, but also the game’s developers who shared a gif of the celebration with a reminder for Neymar to call his flashbangs:

Valve defends decision to back off Steam curation with hard numbers at industry talk

Valve’s move to an ‘anything goes’ approach to deciding which games will appear on Steam is a controversial one, but the company defended the decision by offering up some hard numbers that help describe the scope of the problem at a games industry talk this week in Russia.
Earlier this month, Valve announced that the company would allow any game on Steam so long as it wasn’t either illegal or “trolling.” The move came after outcry over emails the company sent to the developers of adult-themed games, primarily visual novels, telling them to either censor content or have their games pulled from Steam.
Valve might not be doing much curation these days, but we still are! Here's our list of the .
Now, Valve is explaining the subsequent decision to cease curating games almost entirely. Jan-Peter Ewert, head of Valve’s business development, gave a presentation at the Business Conference for Games Industry that laid out some of the numbers the company deals with when it comes to the sheer number of new games coming through Steam Direct.
In one slide, provided via Twitter by , Ewert shows how the number of new games on Steam has increased with each successive indie discovery program. Before Greenlight, which launched in 2012, about five games were released a week. With Greenlight, that number grew to 70 per week, and now with Steam Direct, Valve is seeing about 180 weekly game launches.
Those numbers couple with an ever-expanding Steam playerbase. Ewert said 13.5 million first-time purchasers have arrived on Steam in January through April of this year. They add up to a daunting challenge, wherever you fall on Valve’s decision about curating games.

Valve has spoiled the Steam Summer Sale for me

Last week, Steam’s Summer Sale launched with a bang. The minigames are back, pet aliens can be earned, and (most importantly) that third copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is only $19.99. It’s the perfect time to harvest your wishlist en masse, adding every indie game and RPG to your hoard. Unless you’re like me, that is, and used Steam’s new “External Funds Used” tracker just before the sale started.

Over the past nine years, I’ve spent around $1,400 on Steam. That’s kind of shocking, seeing as I never buy games at full price, and had a terrible PC until 2013. I haven’t even finished many games lately, though indies and Dota 2 have got plenty of attention.

Haven't got the cash? Check out the .
Armed with this info, the thought of buying another game stings. Sure, sites like have given estimates of my library’s worth for years. But there’s something about seeing an exact amount in an that strikes shame into my heart. The thought becomes unbearable when I consider third-party sources for some games - I can’t count the number of Humble Bundles I’ve purchased in the past decade.

I’m not ashamed of the total itself, even though $1,400 would pay for a decent computer. A large sum was bound to pile up over the course of a few years, after all. Rather, I’m disappointed that I was caught off-guard by my expenditures. I should be keeping much better track of how my finances and gaming habits intertwine. It’s not bad that I’ve spent a lot on videogames; it’s bad that I hadn’t noticed. It’s even worse that I don’t think I’ve taken advantage of my haul.

Steam charts: most popular games, 23-29 June, 2018

What are the best-selling games in the Steam charts in this week 26 of 2018? As expected, this week has been heavily shaped by the Steam Summer Sale 2018.
Every week PCGamesN recount the highest performing titles on Valve’s platform, from the ten Steam top sellers to the Steam games with the most concurrent players. Why? Because knowing what games people are flocking to is useful for discovering new titles and reminding us of the ones we really ought to have tried by now.
The first portion of this weekly roundup focuses on Steam sales - that is to say the games and DLC that are selling like proverbial hot cakes. We pull these entries from the Steam store itself, under the global top sellers page. The second part of our Steam charts rundown looks at concurrent players, which gives us some insight into the most played games of the past week.
Take a look at this week’s top for the titles with recent player count spikes.
Join us as we list the top ten games for each category along with a brief analysis of the week’s biggest surprises.
