Nearly 10 years after Microsoft introduced avatars to Xbox Live on the 360, the company has pushed a big update to the virtual gamer creation system that makes it more diverse than ever.
Today, Alpha ring Xbox Insiders can fiddle about with the new and improved avatars with the beta Xbox Avatar Editor app - this should be live by 8pm UK time.
There's a wide range of body types and gender-neutral clothing available. New categories of appearance items and accessories include fingernails, makeup, limbs, nose rings and moods.

AMD’s CrossFire and Nvidia’s SLI are the bespoke technologies the two graphics card giants used to get their own GPUs playing nicely together in a single system. Originally both technologies demanded the use of a ribbon cable to connect the multiple graphics cards to each other, but while that is most assuredly still the case with Nvidia’s GeForce cards, AMD’s Radeon GPUs are now able to operate without such restrictions and communicate happily over the PCIe 3.0 interface.

Creators of Day-Z, Bohemia Interactive, have had an exclusive title announced on the Inside Xbox show, titled Vigor. Set in Norway, it's a survival game very similar to Day-Z, and will be released in the summer of 2018, so very soon! The developers were quite insistent that it is not a Battle Royale game, as you can survive by running and hiding, and avoiding any enemy encounter. Weapons can be crafted at your home base by using blueprints, which need to be found in the world, and all of your resources can be lost if you do fail in an encounter with another player. Another game on the way to get really excited about!

DayZ and Arma studio Bohemia has announced a new Scandinavian post-nuclear-war survival game for Xbox One called Vigor. It's coming to Xbox Game Preview this summer. Whether it will land on other platforms we don't yet know.
Vigor was announced in a brief, cinematic trailer during an Inside Xbox broadcast at E3. In the trailer, survivors tiptoe through a tunnelled road, sifting through wreckage, before tension spikes as another survivor - possibly hostile - is seen.
There's no gameplay but the characters wear a jumbled assortment of clothing and wield guns appropriate to the game's 1990s timeline. There's been a nuclear war in Central Europe, and Norway, the game's setting, has become a cutthroat place to make a last stand.
