Scavenger Studios have announced that their Battle Royale style game Darwin Project is moving to a free to play model on July 4th. Creative Director Simon Darveau updated the official website by saying “We are super excited to release the game free to play on Xbox. We made sure you guys can have a great social experience. We optimized the game and added the friend system. Can’t wait to have your feedback! See you in the arena !‘ The Darwin Project takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape in the Northern Canadian Rockies. As preparation for an impending Ice Age, a new project, half science experiment half live-entertainment, is launched. It's called the "Darwin Project" and it challenges participants to survive the cold and fight to the death in a treacherous arena. The Darwin Project offers a competitive multiplayer third person survival experience featuring at its core a new gameplay innovation: the manhunt. In his or her path to victory, a player must survive extreme environmental conditions, track opponents, and set traps in order to win. The current version of the game will disappear from the Xbox store on June 22nd and gamers who have already purchased will receive a founders pack in recognition of their purchase. Anyone who wishes instead to get a refund of the original purchase can contact Xbox Support. Bridge Constructor builds a Portal package of titles

| Yes, Todd Howard and team have settled on The Elder Scrolls 6's region
Added: 03.07.2018 18:37 | 556 views | 0 comments
When at the end of Bethesda's E3 show, the message was clear: we're working on the game but it's a very long way away. We saw a very brief trailer of a mountainous, coastal environment, and then a logo, and that was it. But what were we seeing? Was this the setting of the new game or a kind of red herring - a generic Elder Scrollsian scene made for the trailer? Has Bethesda Game Studios even settled on the region we'll play in yet? I thought we'd wait yonks for an answer but as luck would have it I got one from Todd Howard at Spanish conference Gamelab this week.
| Assassin's Creed Odyssey has reversible boxart to let choose your cover star

We've come a long way from Assassin's Creed not letting you play as a woman - or from doing so only in short sections of its campaign. Assassin's Creed Odyssey will let you play through the entire game as either female or male mercenaries Kassandra or Alexios - and just like the game itself, its reversible cover will let you pick your favourite. That's according to creative director Jonathan Dumont, who revealed the detail in a AMA last night.

| Cyberpunk 2077 is better as first-person than third-person

One of the more surprising stories to come out of E3 2018 was the news that CD Projekt Red's heavily anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 will be a first-person RPG, not the third-person RPG that fans of The Witcher series expected.
If you’re a fan of The Witcher 3 this is a departure from the third-person action style you’ve seen and I can understand an initial disappointment but if you’re a fan of RPGs as a whole, there have been plenty of incredible, highly acclaimed first-person RPGs that you probably already enjoy.
Dishonored, Deus Ex, Bioshock are each exceptional examples of how the perspective fits the mechanics of an RPG and immersive sims. This is a storied genre that Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be learning from while providing its own unique innovations.
We still don't know the but we've good reason to suspect it might be .
The developers revealed that the reason for this CD Projekt Red says this change was to and allow players to immerse themselves within the character. Cyberpunk 2077’s rich beauty is definitely one of its most enticing attributes, and being able to see it up close instead of over-the-shoulder will only make the eye-bleeding fidelity that much sweeter.
In tone, Cyberpunk 2077’s nearest neighbour is clearly Deus Ex, specifically for its city base, augmentations and overwhelming corporate oppression.

Tom writes: "Not too long ago endless running games were all the rage, especially in the mobile space.
In 2018 however the genre appears to have mostly dried up. Deep Space is Bug Studios' latest attempt at recapturing the endless running magic. This is a procedurally generated affair, rather than the usual level based games you tend to find in the genre. Is this port of the mobile version worthy of your time and money?"
| Left 4 Dead creators hiring for "globally known game franchise"
Added: 03.07.2018 3:29 | 1172 views | 0 comments
The studio behind Left 4 Dead and Evolve, Turtle Rock Studios, is calling for a senior level designer to work on an “a globally known game franchise”. The listing calls for a candidate with “experience working with modern FPS engines” and on “a competitive first person shooter”, all which hint towards a new multiplayer series… our hopes are on a new Left 4 Dead but there is a lot to suggest it will be something quite different.
Turtle Rock Studios has a history of creating FPS games, after Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 the studio created Evolve - the 4 v 1 monster hunting shooter. Evolve never found an audience after its launch in 2015, and it announced in 2016 that it was ceasing the development of the franchise including all bug fixes and content updates. The likelihood of another Evolve game seems pretty unlikely at this point given its cancellation, though not entirely impossible, especially if they want a second crack at reviving the series.
Have a hankering to shoot more things? Here are some of the on PC.
A senior level designer is not the only role the studio is seeking.
