Added: 01.07.2018 20:33 | 672 views | 0 comments

Without a doubt, Bethesdas decision to reveal a teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 during E3 2018 not only generated a groundswell of excitement around the long-running fantasy-RPGs fan base, but also caused them to breath a sigh of relief to know that its still in production. This also means that we dont know where exactly in Tamriel the game might be set. Is it possible that the trailer just went with a generic fantasy landscape, and that the final location where the game is set might not have been decided yet?

Added: 01.07.2018 18:47 | 1715 views | 0 comments

Hot off the heels of their E3 reveal, Capcom have released a five minute 4K gameplay trailer of Resident Evil 2 and it looks absolutely chilling. Rebuilt from the ground up, Resident Evil 2's re-release is so much more than just your standard HD remix. With fresh horrors and a new over the should camera angle, the scares will be that much tense – to be honest – it looks scary enough with the new lease of life that has been given to the game courtesy of the power that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 brings. Penned for a January 25, 2019 launch, there's a lengthy wait for this one that will see many clawing in anticipation for its release… especially our own Greg Giddens! Check out the 5 min gameplay trailer below, which where available, is also viewable in glorious 4K.

The E3 Bulletin - Thursday

Added: 01.07.2018 18:45 | 1159 views | 0 comments

Our E3 bulletins run every day this week. Previous entries: | |
It's the penultimate day of E3, which means that the assembled exhibitors have got through everything they wanted to talk about and are now being unwillingly coerced into things they don't want to talk about. Chief among these is, as expected, Fortnite. The shadow of Epic's late-blooming hit looms large over the show: a vast, flossing colossus bestriding the Ozymandian remains of PlayerUnknown.
The chief surprise is that we are talking less about half-baked attempts at taking its crown and more about Sony's devastingly effective attempts to stop PS4 players using their accounts on Switch, which is being received . Microsoft is of course being .

The concept art behind the Cyberpunk 2077 reveal trailer

Added: 01.07.2018 18:45 | 1198 views | 0 comments

It's all very well after seeing nearly an hour of the game at E3 2018, but we - everyone watching from afar - haven't seen it, have we? I mean we're not jealous but it's really unfair.
All we've seen is which, OK, yes, does do a rather magnificent job of selling us on the character and riches of the Night City playground we'll lose ourselves in - you could even argue it's the city which will be the main character in CD Projekt Red's new game.
But before there was a trailer - awaited with something approaching Grand Theft Auto-like anticipation - there was of course concept art, and now CD Projekt Red has shared a smattering of images of it.

Watch us play the proper scary Resident Evil 2 remake

Added: 01.07.2018 18:45 | 1266 views | 0 comments

Yesterday at E3, Aoife got to try out the Resident Evil 2 remake which had been unveiled with a at Monday night's PlayStation showcase. The trailer didn't lie - this is shaping up to be a fantastic and terrifying reimagining of the horror classic.
The game now employs a Resident Evil 4-style over-the-shoulder camera angle, and some puzzles and scares have been remixed to help it feel fresh. Aoife reports that it's still soaked in atmosphere, though, and it's fun to go back to a baby-faced Leon Kennedy before he became an all-action hero.
Anyway - let's let this game speak for itself. You can watch the 20 minutes of gameplay Aoife captured in the embed below.

CD Projekt explains why it went with first-person for Cyberpunk 2077

Added: 01.07.2018 18:45 | 1008 views | 0 comments

At E3, , its upcoming sci-fi open world game. As it did, one major revelation emerged: Cyberpunk is a first-person role-playing game.
Not everyone, it seems, is thrilled at the news. The Witcher 3, CD Projekt's previous game, was of course a third-person adventure. The switch to first-person for Cyberpunk 2077 means the game is in part a first-person shooter, and it's this realisation that seems to have worried some fans of the studio's games.
So, why did CD Projekt go with first-person for Cyberpunk 2077? Quest designer Patrick Mills told me there were a few reasons for it. First up, the developers wanted the player to feel like they were in the body of the character they control.
