The Game Critics Awards have named its best games of E3 2018, and the best of the best was apparently a remake. Resident Evil 2 has taken home Best of Show in the 2018 Game Critics Awards, beating out Anthem, Marvel's Spider-Man, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. To be fair, "remake" is a pretty reductive ...]
Game Critics Awards have finally been unleashed after the E3 2018 and 51 outlets – from all around the world – expressed their preferences based on games that were playable or played, and not just shown in trailers, at the event.
The selection this year for the best games of E3 were definitely more rounded out than Solid Snake’s butt in Super Smash Bros. Out of all the games that were eligible for the top honour, it was a game that was already twenty years old that came out swinging and emerged victorious.
I want to buy the game but the demo has issues with retaining settings between program launches.
If anyone has the full version, can you please set mouse sensitivity to 4 and disable mouse acceleration and auto-aim. Then re-launch the game. Do the settings stick?
Update, July 2: The Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2018 winners have been revealed.
Every year, E3 presents the Games Critics Awards to recognize the best upcoming titles showcased at the event, and following the announcement of 2018’s nominees the panel's winning selections have been revealed. Selected by a panel of 51 publications worldwide - including your friends at PCGamesN - the awards recognize the best games playable at E3.
This year's best of show winner is the delectably gruesome Resident Evil 2 remake. The best PC game was named as Anthem. PC naturally did well in the strategy category, with the computer-exclusive Total War: Three Kingdoms named the best title in the genre.
Stay current with these titles and many more by following our list of the biggest .
There are plenty of multi-platform winners coming to PC as well. Read on for the full list of nominees, with the winners highlighted in bold.
It's important to distinguish that these games had to be playable by voting publications in order to qualify for nominations. That disqualifies major titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Remedy’s Control, Fallout 76, and quite a few more. These games are still eligible for Special Commendations in graphics, sound, and innovation - and Cyberpunk happened to take several such awards.
Anthem led the nominees with picks in five categories and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice followed with four - both of them qualifying for Best of Show among other honours.
There are 55 PC titles among the nominees, seven more than last year. That puts our preferred platform between the major consoles, with PlayStation 4 titles enjoying 58 nominations and Xbox One games getting 51. Ubisoft leads publisher nominations with 11 titles selected, and EA ties Sony Interactive Entertainment in second place with 10 nominations.
Capcom's Resident Evil 2 scored a surprise and took the Best of Show award in the prestigious Game Critics Awards for the best games of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). It's a surprise in part because Resident Evil 2 (a remake of the classic 1998 survival horror game) had three nominations from the group of ...]
Fans of faintly absurd bonus characters can breathe a sigh of relief today; Capcom has confirmed that both Hunk and Tofu will be returning for the Resident Evil 2 remake on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For the uninitiated, Hunk and Tofu were bonus characters present in horror classic Resident Evil 2 - appearing in their own mini-missions, and unlocked if various criteria were met. Hunk, a mysterious gas-mask-wearing Umbrella operative, featured in the 4th Survivor mini-mission, and was unlocked by completing the Leon and Claire scenarios with an A rank. Tofu, a knife-wielding lump of coagulated soy milk, appeared in the unlockable Tofu Survivor mode - a tough reworking of Hunk's mission, accessed by completing any combination of scenarios six times with an A rank in under two and a half hours.
Hot off the heels of their E3 reveal, Capcom have released a five minute 4K gameplay trailer of Resident Evil 2 and it looks absolutely chilling. Rebuilt from the ground up, Resident Evil 2's re-release is so much more than just your standard HD remix. With fresh horrors and a new over the should camera angle, the scares will be that much tense – to be honest – it looks scary enough with the new lease of life that has been given to the game courtesy of the power that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 brings. Penned for a January 25, 2019 launch, there's a lengthy wait for this one that will see many clawing in anticipation for its release… especially our own Greg Giddens! Check out the 5 min gameplay trailer below, which where available, is also viewable in glorious 4K.
