Nioh 2 got a quick reveal teaser in the Sony E3 2018 press conference. A really quick teaser. I'm sure it'll pop up online shortly, but as of yet nothing, and my bed beckons. I'm sure we'll have an update in the near future, but until then the take away is simply that Nioh is getting a sequel, yay!
A third-person action game with physics manipulation, possibly also some time manipulation, was shown off at the E3 2018 Sony press conference. A new title called Control from Remedy. It looks a bit Quantum Break to us, which makes sense with Remedy. You can check out the reveal trailer below:
The Sony E3 2018 press conference delivered some more Spider-Man footage, revealing several classic villains will be involved in the adventure. And with the title hitting shelves in a few weeks, we won’t have to wait long before we can swing around dish out justice as everybody’s favourite, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Check out the footage below:
Sony have delivered on the gameplay footage we’ve all been waiting for, footage for Kojima Production’s Death Stranding. It looks gorgeous, eerie and confusing, precisely what we expected. A few more story and setting details were revealed in the footage but so many questions still remain. A new cast member has also joined the production, Lyndsey Wagner. Check out the footage below:
Rick and Morty creator, Justin Roiland, brings us a new comedy sci-fi game for PSVR and PS4, Trover Saves the Universe, developed by Squanch Games, we see what you did there. Check out the reveal trailer below:
Finally, after years of waiting we got to see something of the Resident Evil 2 remake. Pretty visuals, shots of Sherry, Ada, and Leon, zombies and a licker, I’m sold. And we won’t have to wait too long either, as a release date of January 25th 2019 finished off the reveal. Update: We've got the trailer now for you. Check it out below:
New footage was revealed of Sucker Punch’s Samurai adventure game Ghost of Tsushima. A beautiful field full of flora and fauna, followed by a dark forest and some glorious combat means to, and succeeds in, whetting our appetite. A little storytelling, some fluid parkour, a takedown and parry system not unlikely the Batman Arkham games, followed by a dash more storytelling and one-on-one combat, and the footage came to a close. Want to see if for yourself? Check it out below:
The four classic maps Jungle, Summit, Slums, and Firing Range are being remastered for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and, surprisingly, also Black Ops IIIÂ . Further to that, Black Ops 3 will be available through PS Plus imminently as a dropped in extra game to the subscription service. Update: The trailer just hit the web. Enjoy:
To kick off Sony’s E3 2018 press conference, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II was shown, with a new cinematic furthering Ellie’s characterisation into the realm of a lesbian relationship, and gameplay footage showing off the brutal combat you’d expect from the series but revealing the protagonist to be, in fact, Ellie this time around. Stealth mechanics, distracting whistles, salvaging for weapons and equipment, world-class voice acting and desperately intense combat is certainly the order of the day. Be sure to check out the trailer below:
Ubisoft have announced the publishing line-up for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, including a novel, an art book and an official guide – all of which will be published worldwide starting this autumn. Through these books, fans will be able to step even further into the world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as they deepen their knowledge of the game and its lore. The broadening Ubisoft publishing collection aspires to provide fans with a wide variety of exclusive insights into their many worlds. The vast universe of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be expanded beyond the game to explore the main story from Kassandra’s point of view, the artwork behind the beautiful and unique regions of the Golden Age of ancient Greece, and an official strategy guide. Published by Ubisoft and Penguin Random House, the novelisation of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will tell the main story of the game from Kassandra’s point of view. Kassandra, a descendant of Leonidas, is caught in the turmoil of the Peloponnesian War. Following the prophecy of an oracle, she is left for dead by her family and escapes from Sparta. 17 years later, now a mercenary in Kephallonia, an unexpected turn of events causes her to set sail across war-torn Greece on an Odyssey to reunite her family and confront the ones who tore it apart. The author, Gordon Doherty, is a Scottish historical fiction writer who previously wrote the Legionary series, set in the Eastern Roman Empire in the late 4th century AD, and the Strategos Trilogy, set in 11th century Anatolia. The Art of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, an art book published by Titan Books, will take readers on an epic voyage into the Golden Age of ancient Greece, a pivotal period that shaped the world and still influences today’s societies. Readers will explore the world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as they discover its regions and secrets, and learn more about Kassandra and Alexios, their armor, their styles and the weapons they use to ply their deadly trade. Concept sketches, texture studies, character art and fully rendered paintings are accompanied by insightful comments and notes from the artists and developers. The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Official Collector’s Edition Guide, a guidebook published by Prima Games, is an indispensable tool for dedicated players. The guide contains a poster of the map, a special message to the fans, a general weapons and equipment guide, and a 100% completion walkthrough including the different branching stories, along with detailed maps flagged with all locations, collectibles and targets. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an ambitious role-playing game that places choice at the center of the experience. The action takes place in Ancient Greece, a world rich with myths and legend, in fifth century BC during the Peloponnesian War between Sparta and Athens. Embodying Alexios or Kassandra, a mercenary of Spartan blood sentenced to death by their family, players will embark on an epic journey from a young outcast to a legendary hero and uncover the truth about their mysterious first civilization lineage.

Three Fields Entertainment are the brains behind Dangerous Golf and the Burnout inspired Danger Zone. Fans of the Burnout franchise keep a keen eye on what this studio are up to, as a lot of the talent working there are ex-Criterion, who of course were responsible for the Burnout games. So, those fans would have been overjoyed to hear the announcement made this week of not one, but two new driving games coming from Three Fields. The first is Danger Zone 2 which promises more action and mayhem but this time on real public roads. The second is a new IP called Dangerous Driving which is a closed track, competitive racing game featuring boost, takedowns and destruction. Both of these new titles offer a huge amount of appeal to those Burnout fans out there keenly awaiting a spiritual successor! We wont have long to wait either, with Danger Zone 2 out in July and Dangerous Driving out this winter, all on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Life Is Strange 2 releasing on September 27th Darwin Project moving to F2P on July 4th
DONTNOD Entertainment have announced that Episode 1 of Life Is Strange 2 will release on September 27th 2018. We don’t know much about the story or the setting of the sequel to the smash indie hit given the events of the previous game, but the developers have promised us fo will be released in August. I was a huge fan of the original, and the 2017 prequel, so I am incredibly hyped for the proper sequel, and hopefully follow Max and Chloe on their next adventure. Creators of Day-Z, Bohemia Interactive, have had an exclusive title announced on the Inside Xbox show, titled Vigor. Set in Norway, it's a survival game very similar to Day-Z, and will be released in the summer of 2018, so very soon! The developers were quite insistent that it is not a Battle Royale game, as you can survive by running and hiding, and avoiding any enemy encounter. Weapons can be crafted at your home base by using blueprints, which need to be found in the world, and all of your resources can be lost if you do fail in an encounter with another player. Another game on the way to get really excited about!
Our first look at the new Assassins Creed and it looks full of colour with a vast world to explore. With a distinct feel of ‘300’, I’m fully anticipating Archimedes’ various inventions to make an appearance – after all, the previous games have dabbled with each time period’s greatest inventors. Set in Ancient Greece the newest title, which begins 400 years before the events of Assassin's Creed Origins, allows you to choose your character – male or female, Alexios or Kassandra – a series first. No switching mid-game either, you play as that character for the entirety of the game. Not content with just showing off a badass trailer, Ubisoft showed a glimpse of what looks like the opening cutscene of the game before revealing some combat sequences, which reveal some of the key weapons before revealing that instead of merely listening to NPCs tell their stories, you can choose your responses to dialogue – another series first – before ending with a full gameplay sequence. The combat looks like it has grown from Origins and I'd wager that it has also been learning a few tricks from For Honor. Releasing October 5, 2018. This. Is. Assassin’s Creed.
In honour of the success of For Honour, Ubisoft are giving the PC version of the game away for free on PC through Uplay from June 11th to 17th. Ubisoft have also announced the next update for the game called Marching Fire which will be released on 16th October. This new update contains a new faction and four new fighters. Also included is a new 4v4 multiplayer mode called Breach, which sees you trying to storm a castle with your squad. Ubisoft show first Gameplay of Skull and Bones
Ubisoft Toronto got in on the action tonight as they shower off a brand new trailer for Starlink. The open world game will release on October 16th. A surprise guest arrived in the form of Starfox as an exclusive on the Nintendo Switch. Ubisoft have teamed up again with Nintendo to bring Starfox and his crew. Starlink uses Skylanders style ships that can be swapped around depednign on your play style.
Transference offers a unique world with a dark narrative. Played in first person, you must explore the minds of your family members and solve puzzles in attempt to piece together the game’s secrets. Launching on VR and ‘traditional' platforms, the game has been created using live action camera work and heavy lighting effects. There’s an air of creepy unsettling narrative to this intriguing title, which launches in the Fall of 2018.
Piracy is Dead. Well, Ubisoft better hope it isn't as their new Pirate game, Skull and Bones, has been given a brand new trailer for E3. Created by Ubisoft Singapore, it will release in 2019. Skull and Bones is set in the Indian Ocean, where your aim is to steal every last coin and become the pirate no one can take down. You can choose your type of mission, much like Sea of Thieves, and it also takes place in a shared world, also very reminiscent of Rare's pirate game. There is a huge amount of inspiration taken from Assassins Creed Black Flag.
