Friday evening, Josh Knowles of KnowTechie logged into Fortnite to play a few games with his son and was greeted with a message. For one time only, players online in Fortnite would be treated to a global event at 10:30 AM PT. This coincided with a countdown timer that was being shown on TVs within the game and based on the eighth blockbuster image, would be a massive rocket launch.
"Bandai Namco had a pretty solid lineup at E3, and as it's been the case these past few years, they're betting it big on anime, with big announcements like Jump Force and a new game based on the gigantic My Hero Academia franchise." - Eduardo Reboucas, Entertainium
When a sequel to Life is Strange was announced, many fans of the series speculated just where the series could go. Given the definitiveness of the first games ending, venturing back to the same setting and characters would never satisfy everyone. Dontnod has cleverly revealed just how the franchise will continue with a prologue for the upcoming second season titled The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. The eponymous superhero is the creation of young Chris Erikson, a boy dealing with the aftermath of his mothers death in a car crash that left his father alone to care for Chris. Through exploring their house and taking on the responsibility of adulthood, Chris becomes a hero in his own life as well, a crafty way to pull at the heartstrings but also introduce the larger mythos of the upcoming season.
From Eurogamer: "Players of the recent Battlefield 5 alpha have been witness to quite a treat. Building on DICE's excellent work in BF1 and Battlefront 2, we're looking at an exceptionally handsome game that, small bugs aside, almost feels like the finished article. It's visually outstanding in fact, the only disappointment - if you can call it that - being that the signs are pointing towards an evolution of the Battlefield formula and its Frostbite engine, as opposed to a full-on next-gen revolution."

"Last years manager mode has unsurprisingly been thrown completely out of the window, replaced by a more detailed career mode that ruthlessly steals all of its ideas from the Codemasters F1 games. You can develop your car, thanks to taking part in a number of free practice tests. Youll get emails from a team manager, team objectives to meet, and the option to sign new contracts once objectives have been met or surpassed. Theres no new thinking here, but the concept works just as well on two wheels as four."

VGChartz's Patrick Day-Childs: "In short, if youve played a Lego game before then you'll know what to expect; a solid and mostly fun accompaniment to the film. It lacks innovation and surprises but for the most part it's a high quality licensed product that's easy for all ages to pick up and play."
Jurassic World Evolution offers a fresh take on dinosaurs by sticking them in a theme park and giving you control of their well-being in a management sim. Does life (or indeed, the game) find a way? Jump Dash Roll enters the enclosure to find out.
Despite its nature as a disaster flick, people seem to keep asking Well, what if Hammonds park worked? Jurassic World itself dabbled with this theme, and we have received countless spin-offs which have experimented with this theme. Evolution is the latest attempt to bring this to life, but with far more fanfare and a budget behind it. Much like its inspiration however, what looks like a solid system only takes a slight push to start falling to pieces.
Gamingbolt: "Red Faction: Guerrilla's central mechanics of destruction are a blast, but in the nine years since the game's original launch, we've played a lot of much better games. What was perfectly acceptable by our standards back in 2009 just doesn't cut it anymore, and as a result, Guerrilla is plagued by a number of major issues. Unfortunately, thanks to a bevy of technical issues, it doesn't even succeed as a remaster."
From PlayStation Universe: "Its been nine years since the release of Red Faction Guerrilla, and it still has the best destructible environments to this day. Thanks to the Re-Mars-tered Edition everyone can experience the best Red Faction title in the franchise with a higher frame rate and some boosted graphics."

Tyler writes: "This week, we dive into Sony's response to the cross-play controversy as we discuss the statement put forth by PlayStation regarding it. Are they serious about looking at a way to bring cross-play to the PlayStation, or are they just buying time? We also discuss whether we really care about cross-play on consoles, and if cross-play is really something companies should feel obligated to provide. Compared to locking the Epic account for PS4 Fortnite players, is cross-play really that big of a deal?"
